How we handle your information

What we collect

We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with vendors or advertisers.
Guests and family in My Wedding
If you add other people's details to My Wedding (guests, family, vendors), you're responsible for having a reason to share them with us. We use them only to run My Wedding.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of services to run the site. Each one only gets what it needs:

We may also share information if the law requires it.
Where it's stored
Our services are mainly in the United States. If you live in the UK or EU, your information is transferred there under the safeguards those services provide, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries you don't take further: deleted after 12 months
- Clients: kept so we can refer back to your wedding. Ask us any time to delete yours
- Purchase records: kept for 7 years for tax
- My Wedding: kept while your account is open. Delete it any time, or ask us to
- Call recordings: kept so we can refer back to them. Ask us any time to delete yours
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, send it to you in a usable format, or stop using it. Write to hello@deardarlinghq.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
For UK and EU visitors, we rely on: taking steps you asked for (replying, delivering a purchase), our legitimate interest in running the site, your consent (story publishing, call recording, marketing emails), and legal obligations (tax records).
Emails
We only send marketing emails if you've said yes. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Children
The site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If the change matters, we'll tell clients by email.
